Back to School Affects Pets Too

Back to School Affects Pets Too
How to Help Them Better Cope with This Stressful Period.

An empty house after a summer of play, travel, and time away can cause stress symptoms in pets. Spending time with them and playing a little every day is crucial so they don’t miss the summer.

This lack of attention can be “difficult” for them, not just for dogs and cats, but for all pets we interact with daily. Our animals don’t understand that the school year has started. They simply think their playmate has “left”.

That’s why it’s important to set aside time each day to play with them, even when we’re busy.

A walk before or after school is a good example. Spending time with our little animals is not only beneficial for them but also a great way for children to disconnect from school for a while.

Moreover, a bored, stressed, or lonely animal can often become destructive. To prevent this, we must ensure our dogs and cats are occupied during our absence.

To do this, we can have fun hiding food in different corners of the house so they can enjoy searching for it throughout the day; another option is to provide them with educational toys or even a sandbox so they can dig and avoid destroying rugs or cushions in the house.

But remember, the best thing is to share your activities with your four-legged friend, for the happiness of both of you!
